This major prepares students for the field of accounting. Northwood Accounting students get a head start over students at most other schools because Northwood students begin Accounting courses during their first semester. Another major advantage of our program is the integration of management courses in the overall accountancy curriculum. Students graduate prepared to sit for the CPA examination and to begin a career in accounting.


Advertising & Marketing

The Advertising & Marketing program offers a unique curriculum. The curriculum provides Marketing's overview of research, promotions, pricing, product development, and sales; along with the specific knowledge of Advertising (creative or research teams and/or account management) and provides the graduate with the skills necessary to direct, control, and supervise these functions.


Aftermarket Management

This program focuses on the automotive aftermarket industry including the wholesale, retail, manufacturing, performance, and motor sports channels; as well as the development of an aftermarket business.

Northwood is the only University that specifically prepares students for this 300 billion dollar industry. Courses cover manufacturing, distribution and sales of automotive parts, supplies, accessories, tools, finance, and shop equipment. This program also develops students’ management skills.


Automotive Marketing & Management

This program focuses on the various aspects of the automotive marketing function including dealership advertising, finance and insurance, budgeting and forecasting, parts and service, and used car management. Students in the program earn internships with companies well known in the automotive industry and at the renowned Detroit, Michigan, International Auto Show. Northwood students produce and host, on the Michigan campus, the country's largest outdoor auto show.


Computer Information Management

The Computer Information Management curriculum provides students with the required knowledge to understand, develop the interrelations of computers, networking, telecommunication, business, and technology management.



Focus on important aspects of economic theory, philosophy, and application. Courses cover intermediate theory, development of economic thought, economic forecasting and research, and monetary theory. Graduates routinely move into positions in the banking, finance, and analytical services industries. Past graduates have started their careers at the Chicago Board of Trade, the Federal Reserve System, and the U.S. Department of Defense.


Entertainment, Sport & Promotion Management

This major focuses on the expansion of entertainment and sport and its impact on cultural, social, and economic issues at different levels. Course work emphasizes a broad understanding of the business side of entertainment and leisure activities, including sports sociology, communication, the food and beverage industry, sports governance, the industry legal aspects, club, resort and facilities management, and ethics.



The Entrepreneurship major focuses on business enterprise models and entrepreneurial bases. By combining a rigorous academic curriculum, leadership development, experiential learning, and relationships with industry leaders, graduates prepare to become tomorrow's entrepreneurs. 25% of Northwood University graduates are business owners within a few years after graduation.


Fashion Marketing & Management

This degree focuses on the highly complex world of fashion marketing. Fashion courses include textiles, fashion promotions, history of costume, buying, theory and practice, and apparel analysis. Students gain a solid background in the fashion industry through traditional course work and a career-related externship (short-term, immersive experience of a career field).



The Finance major focuses on course work designed to place graduates in financial service industry careers. Specialty areas include securities, banking, insurance, credit, trusts, taxes, and financial advising. This exciting degree program provides students with relevant and challenging course work needed to meet the high demands of business and industry.


Hospitality Management

This major focuses on the largest components of the highly competitive service economy. Hospitality Management courses include facilities engineering, food and beverage management, human resource management, and current hospitality industry issues. The program includes a career-related externship (short-term, immersive experience of a career field).


International Business

This major focuses on the emerging global business environment. International courses include trade, finance, law, marketing, management, culture, world geography, and comparative economic systems.

Crossing borders increases the complexity of business and with increasing globalization; businesses require individuals who can work in and for international organizations. This program is designed with the future global leaders in mind.



Created by our executive faculty, with advice from the professional business community, the bachelor's degree in Management focuses on the broad functional disciplines of management. The course work prepares graduates with a diverse background in general management and industry who have developed strong ethics, skills, and who are ready to lead.



This major focuses on the various aspects of marketing, including business-to-business marketing, marketing research, integrated marketing, and marketing management. Taught by professors with strong business marketing experience, students develop skills in marketing products and services, copywriting, and creative team roles. Students develop a marketing plan as a capstone marketing project.


Management Information Systems

Northwood's MIS curriculum offers you the application of information technology to support business activities and a host of business management courses that help you build management potential. As a global economy, there is a growing demand for graduates who have the analytical skills and business background to make business processes more productive.


Operations & Supply Chain Management

In this program you will be equipped to ultimately lead operations and supply chain management disciplines within global enterprises. Operations and supply chain management has rapidly grown in importance as industries strive to become as efficient as possible. There is a very high demand for staff who are competent in these areas.


Four Year BBA/MBA Program

The Northwood University Four Year BBA/MBA Program is an intensive program of study that allows high-achieving, focused stu­dents to complete their Bachelor of Business Administration degree in three years and their Master of Business Administration degree in one additional year. This program allows for and encourages students to participate in co-curricular campus life programming like varsity athletics, Greek life, business clubs, and academic, service, and social organizations while at Northwood University.
